How do the Cardinals "not deserve" to win the world series?
December 10th, 2011I have seen this comment made by multiple people. Could somebody please kindfully explain to me the logic and reasoning behind this? They made one of the greatest comebacks EVER. They beat the almighty Phillies and the extremely well built Brewers. This has truly been an amazing underdog story and I don’t see how people (besides Rangers, Reds, or Cubs fans) feel they do not deserve this and are hoping that they lose. In 2006, they DID NOT deserve the title. An 83 win team in the playoffs is pathetic. But this is a 90 win team, so that cannot be used as an excuse. Whew, rant mode off!
JimmyG I am guessing (and I may be wrong) that you are a cubs fan. If so, the hypocrisy of your statement that we are "arrogant and classless" is ridiculous. Cubs fans are the ones who typically start to do the trash talking in the rivalry. We are not labelled the "best fans in baseball" for nothing. We show respect and tolerance to other ballclubs like no other fans do, unless provoked otherwise (ie: Brandon Phillips). Are there some arrogant Cardinals fans out there? Sure. But that goes for every other teams’ fans as well.
We have the right to talk trash, you guys don’t. All of the Cub fans that I know start the arguments. And you are extremely ignorant if you have never heard Cardinal fans coined as the "best fans in baseball." Come talk to me when the Cubs are actually a contender. Until then, go ahead and keep crying, just because you are jealous that we year in and year out have confidence in our team.
Wow, some people are really stupid because that arugment makes no sense. If you win your division/wild card spot, win the NLDS, and then win the NLCS, you deserve to advance to the World Series. Howevr I have never heard of anyone saying this.
Maybe they say iut because the Rangers have never won the World Series and they feel that the Cardinals should not win since they have the second most amount of championships in MLB history.
